Adaptive, intelligent resource management for converged radar, electronic warfare and communications platforms

The modern battlefield requires agile multifunction platforms capable of responding to rapid changes in conditions and adversarial behavior. Traditional approaches use discrete platforms for radar, electronic warfare (EW) and communications with dedicated apertures, which make it difficult to coordinate spectrum use and to adopt new technology. 

Adaptive, converged radio frequency (RF) platforms bring advantages in space, power, and ease of adaptation to both manned and unmanned systems. By leveraging the modular open systems approach (MOSA), converged platforms enable rapid delivery of affordable, interoperable capability that's easy to upgrade. Effective use of a multifunction RF platform requires sophisticated management to coordinate shared resources and task multiple platforms. An adaptable and intelligent management solution is needed to support complex battlefield scenarios where multiple objectives must be simultaneously obtained.

How it works

Our multifunction RF platform manager coordinates RF mission goals in spectrum, space and time—enabling success in complex and dynamic environments. It is comprised of our Balanced RF Resource Allocator for Heterogeneous Multi-Objective Systems (BRAHMS) technology which delivers a scalable, low overhead solution to resource management, with an open architecture for seamless integration with third-party platforms and systems.

BRAHMS leverages sophisticated AI and machine learning to optimize resource allocations for multifunction RF platforms, dynamically adjusting to changes in environment and unexpected conditions. 

Our open architecture supports the MOSA interface standards and the Army C5ISR/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS). Implementation of  the  Abbreviated Capability Development Document for CMOSS Mounted Form Factor (CMFF) ensures interoperability of our multifunction RF platform manager with CMOSS-compliant devices.
