Dr. Petros Mouchtaris
President,  Peraton Labs

​As president of Peraton Labs, Dr. Petros Mouchtaris delivers the vision and leadership for the company’s trailblazing applied research. Leading a self-sustaining research center within Peraton, Petros oversees engineering and applied research to enable government agencies, utilities and commercial enterprises to fully exploit the future of communications, analytics and cybersecurity.

Petros has over 30 years of experience in research and development, both as a technologist and a senior manager. He was previously president and general manager of Perspecta Labs, which generated transformative methodologies to fuel solutions for our customers’ unique challenges. Petros previously served as president of Vencore Labs, vice president of applied research at Vencore, assistant vice president of Telcordia Technologies’ Network Systems Laboratory, director of Oracle’s product development and technical director at Pacific Bell (now AT&T).

Petros has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, and both a Master of Science and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

  • Primary contributions to ‘firsts’ of the past including, the first multimedia email attachment, first wide-area ATM / SONET gigabit network, the oldest blockchain in the world, and the Army’s first state-of-the-art laboratory for testing infrared laser-based countermeasures
