Richard Gifford currently serves as vice president of engineering at Peraton Labs. He joined the company following the acquisition of DHPC Technologies on May 1, 2020. In this role, Gifford is responsible for and continued research and advanced technology development of Electronic Warfare and Survivability Systems for air and ground platforms.
Gifford previously served as vice president of engineering at DHPC Technologies where he was responsible for direct management and technical oversight of all engineering personnel involved in the wide variety of engineering assignments being executed across the company. Prior to joining DHPC Technologies, Gifford had a lengthy career with the U.S. Army, Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD), where he served part of his career as chief of the Electro-Optic / Infrared (O / IR) Survivability Branch. His time with the Army gave him extensive experience planning and coordinating technical programs integrating efforts across multiple projects, research and development organizations, Department of Defense services, matrix organizations and industry and government laboratories. Earlier in his career, Gifford served as product deployment manager and product release manager for the fiber optic and switching systems business units at Lucent. Before that, Gifford was a program lead for the aviation research and development team at Teledyne Brown Engineering. Gifford holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and a Master of Science in electrical engineering, with concentrations in electronics and computer systems, from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is also a member of the Army Aviation Association of America, the Association of Old Crows, the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers and the Association of the United States Army. He graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2006 with the completion of the Advanced Acquisition Program certificate in program management. |
