Peter DeCandia

Senior Director, Engineering
Peter DeCandia currently serves as senior director of engineering at Peraton Labs. He joined the company following the acquisition of DHPC Technologies on May 1, 2020. DeCandia is responsible for developing advanced fire control, armaments, sensor electronics and countermeasure technologies in support of various Army customers.  

Since joining DHPC Technologies in 2005, DeCandia has held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, contracts and finance most recently serving as Vice President of Engineering since 2018. In this role, DeCandia was responsible for providing technical leadership and management, and for overseeing the analysis, systems engineering, hardware development and software development for advanced prototype systems. 

DeCandia is an accomplished professional with more than 15 years of experience leading engineering programs across multiple disciplines and applications. DeCandia’s broad base of experience has enabled him to lead multiple successful programs ranging from counter-improvised explosive device (IED), ground vehicle survivability, aircraft survivability, fire control, counter-unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), automated test systems and lab development.

DeCandia holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from The College of New Jersey. Peter is active in the community and is a member of the Picatinny Chapter of the Association of the United States Army.   ​
