Peraton Labs is a proud sponsor and contributor to the 40th anniversary of the MILCOM conference, focused on “Transforming Decision Making through Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2).” Taking place November 28 through December 2, 2022, in Rockville, MD, MILCOM 2022 provides a forum for innovative research and technology development in secure communications, resilient networks, multi-domain operations, cyber security, and machine learning.
Qinqing Zhang, chief research scientist at Peraton Labs is the general co-chair of the conference and several Peraton Labs’ staff are members of the Technical Program Committee. MILCOM 2022 features five technical tracks and a variety of workshops, tutorials, and technical panels in both an unclassified technical program and a restricted access technical program.
Peraton Labs is contributing to the following events in the unclassified program. We look forward to seeing you at MILCOM 2022!
For more information on the conference, see MILCOM 2022 | Military Communications Conference | 28 November – 2 December 2022 // National Capital Region, USA. - Josh Morman of Peraton Labs is speaking on “The Future of GNU Radio: Heterogeneous Computing, Distributed Processing, and Scheduler-As-a-Plugin” in a session on Cognitive Radio, November 29, 11:50-13:10. The talk discusses the technical vision and architecture for GNU Radio 4.0 and advances for scheduling, heterogeneous architectures, distributed computing, and ease of development.
- A presentation co-authored by Peraton Labs on “Multi-Band Control Channel Architecture (MICCA): Mass Reconfiguration Protocol for Spectrum Dependent Systems” will be given by researchers from Shared Spectrum Company on November 29, 11:50-13:10. The talk discusses the MICCA architecture, which provides command, control, and communications links to enable robust spectrum management and spectrum sharing among heterogeneous systems.
- A presentation co-authored by Peraton Labs on “C Program Partitioning with Fine-Grained Security Constraints and Post-Partition Verification” will be given by researchers from Columbia University on November 29, 14:45-16:05. The talk discusses a C program partitioner that supports fine-grained security constraints, provides post-partition verification, and is practical for use on large applications with non-trivial security constraints.
- Peraton Labs’ researchers are presenting a talk on “Data Sanitization Approach to Mitigate Clean-Label Attacks Against Malware Detection Systems” in a session on Attacks on Machine Learning on Thursday, December 1, 14:10-15:30. The talk discusses a new cyber defense which substantially mitigates the impact of clean-label poisoning attacks on machine learning-based malware detection systems, improving malware detection accuracy to over 93%.
- Rauf Izmailov of Peraton Labs is speaking on “Adversarial Attacks on Machine Learning Models for Cyber Applications: Some Recent Challenges” in a panel on Adversarial Machine Learning. The remarks discuss threats posed in the cyber domain by clean-label attacks that can operate not only as poisoning attacks in the training phase, but also as evasion attacks to deceive a machine learning-based cyber system without being injected into training data.
